Innovation In the Tape Category
There has been little innovation in the tape industry in over 30 years and Intertape Polymer Group recognized the need for change. They approached HBN for help in launching a new painters tape with a technological advantage that prevents paint bleed.
HBN was responsible for the brand positioning, naming, merchandising and sales material of a 2009 product launch. We noticed there was a lot of standardization in the tape category so we created a design that was far different than the competition. The packaging graphics are bold, clean and clearly communicate the tape’s point of difference. The teal colored tape, paired with the unique standing structure allow Bloc-it to become noticed on the shelf and lift it from a commodity product.
