World Food Expo packaging discoveries – Part 1
Did you know that 80% of the meat in China is packaged in single serve containers? That was one of the many new things that I learned during the World Food Expo at McCormick Place. Here are some of the other findings from the show.
No More Blow-On Labels
Rather than blowing on an IRC label and crossing your fingers for the best placement, Curwood has created a new IntegraPeel ™ Technology for plastic bags. The IRC or promotion is part of the packaging design and printed directly on the film, so you control the placement and steer clear of a label on top of your important packaging communication. They also demonstrated peel off recipes on the back panel with no messy food attached.
Just Peel & Reseal
Another Curwood product that is great for multiple servings is their new EZ Peel® Reseal Film Technology. The bottom piece of the container is a rigid tray and the top film is resealable with a tamper evident feature. The nice thing about this your consumers can take 2 servings of meat or cheese out for dinner and easily reseal the rest for later, No need for another bag or container to ensure freshness!
Stayed tuned for more packaging discoveries from the World Food Expo!

Great info! It’s important to discover the wonderful ‘collision’ of design and technology trends.
Both are essential in today’s marketplace.
