Dwight is the Sherlock Holmes of HBN. His powers of creative observation and strategic thinking to solve a visual, branding or difficult business challenge, has lead to great success for him as well as HBN Brand Design. Past experience includes running his own freelance business to leading the Quaker Oats Packaging Group as a Senior Manager. Dwight joined Harbauer Bruce Design as VP Packaging in 1991 and is currently the president/owner.
- How did you get in this business? In High School I found I spent most of my free time doing creative things – drawing, photography, painting and the like. Its what I had the most interest in and I did it well. When I needed to pick a career direction I was only motivated to pursue design & creative related options.
- What do you like most about being the owner of HBN Brand Design? A very hard question to answer, I guess to be in the position to try help others – For the HBN staff, trying to help advance personal development where I can. For clients and their project needs, being part of the solution from a strategic point-of-view and the fun creative part. Seeing how well our creative works on-shelf and the contribution it makes to our clients is what brings the most satisfaction to me.
- What was your favorite toy growing up as a kid? My bike – I rode everywhere, covering some pretty long distances. Because of my bike I was able to explore new places and seeing new things. I was also enabled to get involved with some very imaginary play.
- What do you like to do outside of work? Drive fast (mostly on a race track), anything outdoors – hiking/backpacking/canoeing/gardening and photography.
- Do you have any stupid human tricks? No! I don’t have any smart ones either.
